Documentation. Not a particularly sexy task. And one that is easy to ignore. Because who has the time and energy to document policy, processes, and procedures? There are donations to secure!

So why bother? What is documentation good for beyond providing instructions on key processes?

If you aspire to scale your fundraising, you are going to have to invest time in documentation. If you desire stability and sustainability in your operations, documentation is going to help you get there. And let’s not forget documentation can maximize the productivity and performance of your fundraising shop.

Biography
Through her work and volunteer experiences, Liz (she/her) has been involved in all aspects of fundraising – from signature events, direct mail campaigns to major gift strategy, capital campaigns and volunteer management. In all those areas, she has implemented systems (with beautiful documentation) for greatest success and sustainability.

After 20 years working in various non-profit organizations, Liz launched Liz Rejman + Co., a consultancy focused on the optimization of operations to increase productivity and performance for sustainability and scale.

She has shared her knowledge and expertise at numerous education events hosted by AFP Toronto, Apra, Apra Canada, AHP, and Charity Village. Liz has instructed at both Western University and Georgian College.

She holds a certificate in Human Resources Management from George Brown College, a professional certificate in Learning and Development from Western University and is a former CFRE (2011-2016).

Liz is the past President for the international prospect development association Apra and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Apra Foundation.
She is contributor to the book “The Vigilant Fundraiser” and co-editor and contributor to the book “Prospect Research in Canada: An Essential Guide for Researchers and Fundraisers”.
