Multi-Lens Modeling – Custom Predictive Modeling That Fuels All Your Fundraising Strategies

Uncover a new potential for giving.

A magnifying glass, binoculars, a telescope, Multi-Lens Modeling… What do these things all have in common? They can give you a closer look; show you something new you might not have been able to see before.

From day 1, iWave has been helping nonprofit organizations fully customize their fundraising intelligence experience based on their unique donors, missions, and goals. It’s what we do. We know that you are constantly trying to find new ways of looking at your prospects. If you’ve been in the nonprofit world for a while, or even if you’re new to the game, you know that a fresh pair of eyes is sometimes the exact thing a project needs. That’s why we have expanded the capabilities of Multi-Lens Scoring, to create the game-changing Multi-Lens Modeling.

If you are a current iWave user, we are almost certain you have used wealth screening to screen prospects and donors through a “major giving” lens. But did you know that major giving prospects only account for about 10% of screening results? Now, with Multi-Lens Modeling, iWave clients can broaden their view, harnessing the huge untapped potential in their donor database that can be unlocked by looking at the other 90%.

iWave’s Multi-Lens Modeling provides new predictive power to nonprofits, uncovering opportunities that fuel ALL fundraising programs. It allows you to view wealth screening results and donor profiles under multiple settings depending on your fundraising goals; to see your prospects through multiple lenses which are completely customized by you.

This has never been done in the industry before, but don’t worry – we’ll take you through how to use it, and what it could mean for your organization.

How can Multi-Lens Modeling work for you?

Multi-Lens Modeling allows you to easily select from customizable model templates; annual giving, capital campaigns, direct mail campaigns, mid-level giving, and major giving. You can also create an UNLIMITED number of your own custom templates from scratch, so you can look at your screening results through the unique lens that perfectly matches your specific fundraising goals. Each model’s scoring preferences can be adjusted at any time to suit your organization’s needs and modeling goals.

Let’s start with one of the most popular models: The Annual Giving Model identifies your best donors among your lower capacity donors for annual appeal upgrades. For example: You might own an animal shelter with a lot of small gift donors that you don’t know much about. Using the Annual Giving model, you would be able to see which of these donors have the capacity to give more and predict their response to an increased gift ask. Now, the next time you reach out to them, instead of asking them for $50, you could ask for $150 and feel confident that they will respond positively.

The Direct Mail Model segments your donors based on their giving interests so you can tailor your campaign messaging. For example, if you owned a food bank that is raising funds for a school breakfast program, with the Direct Mail Model, you can easily identify which prospects and donors have a stronger affinity to education-based causes and human services. You can export that list for your next outreach and tailor the messaging to these donors to focus on how a student’s education can be improved with healthy nutrition. And voila, you are reaching the right people to help your cause. While this model is named Direct Mail Model, it can be used for any type of outreach including direct mail, digital, or in-person.

The Mid-Level Giving Model identifies your best prospects and donors for mid-level gifts. Say you work at a college and have a mid-level giving program to raise funds to support ongoing operations and to keep donors engaged. With the Mid-Level Giving Model, you can easily identify top prospects and donors for these types of gifts. The donors in this list can be cultivated with both mass marketing tactics and for the top ones, you can consider personalized touches through relationship management.

The Capital Campaign Model identifies your best prospects and donors for your capital campaign. Example: The hospital you work for is running a capital campaign to raise funds to expand the emergency department. With the Capital Campaign Model, you can easily identify which prospects to prioritize for gift solicitation by segmenting their donor list based on campaign goals. You can use the segments in a targeted fundraising effort, starting with top prospects and moving to smaller donors.

Last but not least: The Major Giving Model identifies your best prospects and donors for your largest gifts. Say you own a museum that has a major giving program to help raise funds to present special exhibitions. With the Major Giving Model, you can easily identify top prospects for major gifts or leadership gifts. Seeing donors through this lens can give you the confidence to start the process of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship; knowing you are asking the right person for the right gift.

Discover endless possibilities.

We KNOW that in our industry, one size doesn’t fit all.

Nonprofit professionals face so many challenges surrounding how to identify, qualify, and retain donors to ultimately raise more for their cause (and how to do this with fewer and fewer resources). Multi-Lens Modeling, allows you to easily and efficiently get a clear picture of your prospects, and uncover more gifts of all sizes.

There are endless possibilities with Multi-Lens Modeling. Ultimately, it boils down to even more customization for your fundraising efforts. With five custom templates to try (and an unlimited number of templates you can create yourself) you can compare and contrast your results, put together multiple lists to work through, and broaden your horizons to new potential projects and donor segments that weren’t on your radar before.

Kendell Valliere, Director of Development, Jewish Community Alliance, has seen this feature in action, “We’ve screened a couple of lists including one membership list and used [Multi-Lens Modeling] to see if there were any members with high capacity we didn’t know about, so we could target them for the quiet phase of our capital campaign. The ability to see different ratings based on our capital campaign [goals] versus annual giving is a real difference maker. I really like being able to adjust each [model] and see all of them side by side.”

iWave’s Multi-Lens Modeling can change the way fundraisers look at their wealth screening results and revolutionize the way fundraisers look at prospects and donors.
