Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce President’s Awards, November 5, 2014 – “We work with organizations from across Canada, the United States, and overseas so it is especially rewarding to be recognized at home for our contributions to the local economy,” said CEO Gerry Lawless of iWave Information Systems Inc..
Prince Edward Island, often know as ‘Innovation Island’, is fertile ground for companies who are advancing technologies like software, aeronautics, aquaculture, and marine engineering. Many of these companies, like iWave, are providing products and services that are in demand across broader, global markets. The President’s Award for Excellence in Export from the Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce is intended to recognize these companies and the value they bring to the local economy. The Chamber evaluates nominees for innovation strategies, export potential, and export sales when granting the award. With over a 1000 local businesses in their membership, the Charlottetown Chamber aims to be the major voice of business in the greater Charlottetown area. “iWave was very proud to be shortlisted with firms – BGHJ Architects, and Coles Associates Ltd. – and we are honoured to be chosen as the recipient. As a home grown company with roots in the local community this award means a lot to us. It belongs to all our staff, and is a testament to the quality and effort of our people,” said Lawless.
