2016: A Year in Review
2016 is drawing to a close. Here at iWave, this past year was one of hard work, change, and unprecedented growth. We’ve listed a few of the biggest accomplishments from the last year and a glimpse into what you can expect in 2017.
Our journey began all the way back in 1991. Since that time, iWave has evolved to become a trusted provider of software solutions that empower education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations of all shapes and sizes. We are excited to see what the next 25 years has in store for us, and above all we are committed to improving our services to better help organizations like yours. Thank you for your support then, now, and into the future.
We launched PROscreen in May with one idea in mind: no more wealth screening – or rather, taking wealth screening several steps further than has ever been done before. Featuring more customization and transparency than any other screening tool, PROscreen is also the first ever screening tool available in Canada. With over a million US and Canadian screens completed since May, PROscreen has changed how nonprofits prioritize their databases and uncover major gift donors.
New Datasets and Partnerships
Throughout 2016, we worked hard to secure new datasets and partnerships to offer more value to clients. First came the introduction of Manifold real estate data, which has greatly improved real estate research for Canadian major gift prospects and made screening Canadian prospects possible.
Next came a partnership with GG+A, whose wealth screening product DonorScape® now includes access to VeriGift Charitable Donations Data. For DonorScape® clients, this partnership means enhanced analytics capabilities through key philanthropic giving data and thus a better understanding of their prospects’ giving capacities.
New DMS Integrations
Software integration is the way of the future. That’s why iWave teamed up with Salesforce and Tessitura to become a part of your donor management software (DMS). In 2016 we introduced our PROscore prospect scoring system to the Salesforce AppExchange and the Tessitura Network. These DMS integrations deliver more value for clients who can now work faster and learn more about their major gift prospects without leaving their DMS window.
The VeriGift database of individual, corporate, and foundation charitable gifts now includes well over 100 million records and counting. It is the fastest growing and most up-to-date charitable giving database. Our VeriGift team has been hard at work adding millions of new records each month. Congratulations to the team!

iWave Gives Back
Here at iWave, we understand helping our clients (and all nonprofits) means being like the donors, volunteers, and supporters you’re looking for. Throughout 2016, our staff and leadership participated in and donated to various fundraisers, roadside cleanups, food drives, and charity events. Creating positive change starts at the community level, and iWave is more than happy to do our part now and in the future.
2017 Look Ahead
We are not planning on slowing down any time soon! As an organization we listen to and value client feedback because it fuels our momentum and innovation. The next year will mean more product features, integrations, and more.
What our valued clients can look forward to:
To start, in January 2017 we are rolling out two new datasets: Relationship Science and Thomson Reuters.
Relationship Science (“RelSci”) is a technology platform that enables institutions to harness the power of their relationships to accelerate development success. In PRO, RelSci relationship data will help you understand who your prospect or donor is connected to and how they are connected.
Use RelSci Relationship Data To:
- Search your prospect or donor to see up to 50 of their top connections and how they are connected (i.e. alma mater, occupation, family, boards, etc.)
- Access profiles on more than 7M influential people and organizations (40% International)
- Identify high-potential donors and utilize their top relationships to expand your donor base
- Identify the prospect or donor’s top relationship sources and types of relationships
Thomson Reuters is a leading and recognized provider of individual and company wealth and insider transaction information. The addition of Thomson Reuters provides access to more donor contact details, executive biographies, company information, cash compensation, and detailed insider trades share information, all of which will help them make a more timely and more educated major gift ask.
Use Thomson Reuters Data To:
- Locate wealthy prospects and alumni in your area
- Make a more timely ask by leveraging insider transactions and initial security ownership information
- Make a more educated ask with access to biographical, compensation, and employment information
- Stay up-to-date by setting alerts to notify you of wealth creating events for prospects or companies, such as stock disposal, company mergers, and job changes, as they occur.
- Build a list of prospects based on job title, compensation, location, alma mater, etc.
Thank you to all our clients, partners, and supporters for a tremendous year. 2017 is set to be another year of hard work, change, and growth. We invite you to reach out with your ideas, concerns, and suggestions so that we can continue to provide superior solutions and experiences for you and the causes you serve.
We wish you continued success in the new year and beyond!
