Use ZoomInfo’s PowerSearch or High Net Worth Alert sections of PRO to easily build lists of lost alumni for your school. Get contact information, employment history, insider stock transactions, board memberships, and a comprehensive profile of each alum in one place. You can also forward profiles to other people in your organizations easily and even export lists for mailings, etc.

Number 2 Research Past Giving History of a Donor
Search a current or prospective donor’s name in NOZA and see who he or she has supported in the past, and how much they have given. This is an excellent way to help determine a potential or current donor’s giving capacity and affinity for your cause. Research other nonprofits’ top donors and determine if you should be asking for their support!

Identify New Sources of Grants from Foundations
Use Guidestar’s Grant Explorer to search for foundations that support your type of organization or cause, find out how much to ask for, and what are the foundations’ grant making guidelines. You can also search for other organizations that may be similar to yours (under the “Grantee” search tab) to view where grants to these organizations are coming from! Many subscribers also use Grant Explorer to check the size of grants awarded from foundations they are already receiving funding from. This is a great way to ensure that your organization has been asking for the right amount of support.

Number 4 Receive Email Alerts on
Wealth Creating Events of High Net Worth Individuals

Set up email alerts to ensure that you are using your PRO subscription even when you may not have time to login. Search for donors by name, by wealth status, by the name of a college or university, etc in the High Net Worth Alert section and simply click on “Track Executive” on the results page. You will now receive email alerts any time your “tracked executives” have a job change, stock transaction, or are mentioned in a press release, etc. A valuable enhancement to PRO that our subscribers love!

Number 5 Identify Founders/Presidents of Companies in your Area
Use the “Title” search field in ZoomInfo’s PowerSearch to search for, and identify key people at companies in your area of focus. Invite these people to your next event, include them in your next mailing or simply establish a relationship with your organization. These people often have the capacity to give and are also a great source for board recruitment initiatives. These lists are also exportable and often include contact information including phone number and email.

Number 6 Search a Database of 4 Million Wealthy Individuals
The Prospects of Wealth section of PRO allows you to search for wealthy people by zip code. Quickly identify wealthy people right in your area that you may not even have known about. This section is a great place to uncover new potential donors. These people have the capacity to give. Once you’ve identified wealthy individuals in this section you can then search the names throughout PRO (ZoomInfo, High Net Worth, etc) to further develop a profile on them. If you are interested in the giving history of these individuals, search these names within Noza to see the person’s past philanthropic giving and interests.

Number 7 Identify Companies that have Corporate Matching Programs
In the HEP GiftPlus online section, you can search for companies in your area that have matching gift programs, or search for a specific company to learn about their matching gift program. Double or even triple gifts from matching gift eligible employees! Use ZoomInfo’s PowerSearch to identify employees of those gift matching companies. This is a great way to create a list of employees to target in a direct mail or phone campaign for support, many of these people may not even know that their company has a matching gift program!

Number 8 Keyword Search Form 990 PDF’s
Use our foundation search tool to keyword search form 990's for foundations in your state. Searching for “Food Bank” will bring back results that show exactly what page the keywords show up on. Often, you’ll find the keywords listed on the grants listings page. Searching the information in these 990 forms is a great way to uncover new funding opportunities. Learn more about some of your existing foundation funding sources, and also who’s funding similar organizations as yours. Save time by having 990 Search find keywords in 990’s for you.

Number 9 The Root of Every Gift is a Person
Regardless of whether a gift comes from an individual donor, foundation or corporation, the root of every gift is always a person. Use Prospect Research Online to gather information on all the decision makers or influencers in an ask. Employment history, board memberships, insider trades, past giving history, wealth indicators, contact information, newspaper articles, etc. The smallest detail can sometimes be the difference!
