GiftPlus Online contains more than 15,000 matching gift companies, subsidiaries and divisions that match employee gifts to nonprofit institutions & organizations.

This online service provides everything you need to know about an employer's matching gift program, without you having to make any calls to the companies!

How does GiftPlus work?

This service provides a full year of access to an online matching gift database, which contains all of the information you need to collect matching funds such as:

complete contact information
procedures and deadlines
minimum/maximum match amounts
eligibility requirements
restrictions and conditions
a link to the company's matching gift request form

The Technology Behind HEP GiftPlus Online

All of the companies in our Canadian and US databases are surveyed annually for updates to their data. Those that do not respond to mail and email surveys are phoned directly.

Each company knows they are in the database. In fact, each parent matching gift company has its own unique user name and password with which they can access a "back door" to the databases and view their data in "read only" format. They may submit changes which HEP validates in a return call before making effective in the database.

GiftPlus contains nearly 14,000 companies and subsidiaries that match gifts to nonprofit organizations including, colleges & universities, prep schools, social services, cultural & charitable organizations, plus many more. Everything you need to know about matching gift companies, in order to improve or establish your development program, is in GiftPlus!

Search Methods

There are many ways to obtain information on the database:

Search by name of company.
You do not need to put in the entire name. By only putting in the main name, (such as Abbott or Boeing), you will produce results. There may be one, several or sometimes many results. Pick the one that applies to what you are looking for.
Search by town/city and state.
to see what matching gift companies are in your area. Please note that there may be a company in your area but you will find that the program may be run somewhere else. The matching gift profile will show the administrator.
Search by zip code.
for the most refined geographical search.
Search by 1 to 3 eligibilities (nonprofits).
to see what companies match will match. (i.e. To find organizations in your areas that have employee matching gift programs, use the state/province criteria. You could also add the eligibility criteria to target organizations relevant to your cause.)
You can also search for distribution schedules.
how often companies match so that you can budget or anticipate for receipt of the match.
Online forms.
this search will produce live links to forms but also will indicate if the company has an online intranet form.
Ratios.
Although most matches are dollar for dollar (1:1), there are some companies that match 2:1 and above.
Previous cycle matching.
This is for people that may have sent in their matching gift request late. Some companies will not accept late forms, but we find that most do but the matching gift may go into the next distribution cycle.
Volunteering.
Employee volunteering in exchange for a matching grant by the company. This is a growing segment of the matching gift business.
Custom Printing.
Look up the company your donor is employed for and use the "custom print" function to print instructions for the employee on how to get their donation matched to your organization.

Once you are into a profile for a company, note that you will see as much information as we have been able to obtain at the time that you view the profile. However, this information is updated daily depending on information we have recently received or researched.
